Lady Who Accused D’banj Of Rape Debunks Alleged Arrest, Says She’s “Moving On”
D’banj’s rape accuser, Seyitan Babatayo has denied claims of getting arrested alongside her mother after investigative journalist, Kiki Mordi and her lawyers yesterday insisted it happened.
The news however had been trailed by mixed reaction as some social media users affirmed that D’banj is trying to clear his name while others condemned and accused him of intimidation.
In a tweet she shared after her alleged arrest gained public attention yesterday June 17, the lady stated that she is moving on and leaving everything behind her.
]She tweeted, “I’m done with all these back and forth drama…Frank took me to the party and gave me the key to the room. I’m moving on and leaving everything behind me. Thanks and God bless
I don’t know where all this rumors are coming from . Myself and my mom were not and have not been arrested.”
Activist, Ayomide Osowobi confirmed that Ms Babatayo has been released. She tweeted:
Seyitan is fine everyone. She just wants to be alone, gather her thoughts together and recover from her overnight experience in @PoliceNG’s cell. Thank you so much for your calls, advocacy and support.💜

However, in the early hours of today, Communication strategist alleged that Seyitan was missing after being released. She added that she wasn’t answering her calls and that she was supposed to meet with a Police PPRO Thursday morning.
It is unconscionable that women in Nigeria cannot speak up about sexual violence done to them without fear of more violence.
What is this pressure on Seyitan to recant if Dbanj is not guilty? Didn't they already ask for 100m in damages? Why not allow the law take its course?

Also a new single by D’banj was shared via Seyitan’s Twitter page which has since raised a lot of eyebrows from many social media users. There was also rage directed towards the fact that the tweet detailing her rape allegations have been taken down as well.
To be very honest this was never our intention, we love you guys, let's leave our life stress free #StressByDbanj 🕊💙 pic.twitter.com/vsR8V43M1f

Few celebrities such as Dorcas Shola Fapson, Timini Egbuson and Eku Edewor have also taken to social media to call out the singer. See their tweets below.
WE CANNOT ALLOW MONEY/POWER/STATUS to silence @seyitannn_ !!!!
@iamdbanj you are foul & disgusting. I knew that from our ‘encounter’ in LA. But this?? No.— Dorcas Shola Fapson (@Ms_DSF) June 18, 2020
How can you defend yourself from a criminal accusation by asking your team to commit more crimes on your behalf?! @iamdbanj if you are not guilty, then this route is incredibly damning and reeks of desperation. It’s is abhorrent to use your power and influence in this way.

I’m normally against cancel culture but Dbanj is cancelled in my books for real if this all some sort of publicity stunt. 🤮
