Day one (Friday, 23rd March) of the Lagos Fashion Week (#LFWNG) Autumn/Winter 2018 Presentations kicked off with a bang with collections from Gozel Green, Mo Agusto and Iamisigo.
The Wings – Oando in Victoria Island, Lagos (Venue for the presentations) was the perfect backdrop for each designer’s collections, they presentations brought the space to life, plus there was an undeniable buzz from the ambience.
Let’s delve into each designer’s collection.
This collection saw delicately bold stitched or deconstructed pieces that are quite compelling to today’s modern girl. Midi-skirts, oversize sporty tops, carefully cut-out skirts and tops to neatly tailored dresses, which all add to the cool, modern look.
Sisters Sylvia Enekwe-Ojei and Olivia Enekwe-Okoji, are known for pushing boundaries with the release of spectacular collections each year. This collection stayed true to the brand’s aesthetics with its artistic and alternative style that’s vibrant and outwardly androgynous. We simply love the eccentric cuts, de-constructed shapes and eye-catching hues and textures. See our selection of pieces from the collection below.
Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Bubu Ogisi is the creative name behind IAMISIGO. The label promotes an awareness of African culture combined with a core aesthetic of minimalism with a certain edge. The designer who is heavily influenced by her mother, by music and by her surroundings dresses the woman who is simple at heart, but yearns for more.
