As of yesterday, Nigerian has confirmed 20 new Coronavirus cases bringing to a total to 210. The new Coronavirus cases were 11 in Lagos, 3 in the FCT, 3 in Edo, 2 in Osun and one in Ondo, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed.
NCDC said two new deaths were reported in Lagos and Edo States. Currently, Lagos is the hardest-hit by the disease with 109 cases. Nigeria’s capital city Abuja has 41 cases while Osun State has 22 cases.
The patient who died in Lagos is a 55-year-old man. He died in the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, hours after he was admitted, according to the Lagos Commissioner of Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi.
The hospital only discovered after his death that he had Coronavirus. A Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test was done on his blood posthumously and it tested positive for Coronavirus, the commissioner said.
