Lagos State Government Cancels Restriction Of Movement Order During Sanitation Days

Following a media chat held in Lagos today, involving the Lagos state Ministry of Environment, the Lagos State Government through a statement issued by the commissioner for environment, Babatunde Adejare, has lifted the restriction of movement order during environmental sanitation days.

He stated that governor Akinwunmi Ambode opposes the shutting down a mega city like Lagos for a period of three hours on sanitation days, stating that environmental sanitation should rather be a daily exercise and a way of life for Lagosians than a monthly three hours lock-down sanitation period.

Markets in Lagos who have also been violating the state’s environmental laws, were not left out in the presentation, as the state government is committed on turning the heat on all erring parties.
