From February 1st 2020, It’ll be illegal to operate commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada and tricycles aka Keke NAPEP or Keke Maruwa.
The Lagos State Government made this known to the public on Monday, 27th January 2020 through an press conference and their official Twitter handle.
According to them, they’ve “wielded the big stick” against the “menace” in some LGAs in the state such as Apapa, Lagos Mainland, Surulere, Eti-sosa, Lagos Island, and Ikeja. Opay and Gokada bike service were not excluded.
