London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019: JW Anderson

London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 is in full swing in the one of the fashion capitals of the world.

The Fashion and Style Department is doing Show Reports on some select designers showcasing their latest collection this season.

According to a review by Vogue’s  Sarah Mower, excepts from it reads:”Perhaps better to say that Anderson is now successfully serving a sophisticated boots-up package for women who hate the very idea of fashion prescriptions.

That’s clever. For those who’ve tracked him from his beginnings, it’s possible to see how he’s amalgamated and developed earlier experiments. He did paisley pajamas in his first, on-a-shoestring show. In this collection, they’ve become a series of summery shirting suits with collaged cotton patches in yellow, pink, and whatever; there were a few. He’s also re-owned the extreme puffed ’80s sleeves he put out to some people’s horror a couple of years ago. They triggered a trend, nevertheless. Now Anderson has circled back, revisiting the leopard-spot puff sleeves (and the same shape in other iterations) at a time when it’s become normalized desirable, buyable.”
