Dolce & Gabbana rounded up Fall 2019 season of Milan Fashion Week with a showcase featuring 127 beautiful designs in celebration of women. The collection which was dedicated to Italian elegance and famous Italian artists was rightly tagged ‘Eleganza’.
In this collection, there was a deliberate focus on patterns, textiles and colour. Leopard, florals, houndstooth and Prince of Wales, jewel tones then brocades. The designers definitely sought to emphasize the brand’s luxury heritage and artisanal work.
The collection which also included an impressive five bridal looks also featured masculine tailoring ranging from the 1930s to 1960s with structured shoulders, accentuated waists and cigarette pants. They ended the collection with the brand’s true mainstay: beautifully tailored looks in black. The looks played on the classic, even stereotypical, roles of femininity.
Here’s a look at select pieces from the collection.
