CURIOSITY (1)

Happy Africa Day style revolutionists! We found the perfect way to celebrate this special day with an Afrocentric collection.

Kenya based luxury lifestyle brand, Mille Collines recently released its Autumn/Winter 2016 collection dubbed ‘Curio|City’. It was showcased at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Joburg 2016.

The label which seeks to celebrate the African woman who juggles work and family, and who has a passion for her community and uses her strength for change, features tailored suits, refined silhouettes, 3D beading, turbans, and elegant evening wear reflecting her many sides in a burst of print and colour and grounded in the muted tones of Africa’s landscape.

Like her, the designs have many layers and this collection combines traditional craftsmanship with unexpected materials – sunglasses are made from cow’s horn and wood!

‘Curio|City’ is about unity, sisterhood, finding yourself and saying, “This is me”.
