Senator Udo Udoma is the first ministerial nominee of President Buhari, to be screened today, Tuesday the 13th at the Senate.
The former lawmaker who represented Akwa-Ibom South constituency from 1999 to 2007 in the upper legislative chamber was asked a few question and told to “take a bow and go”.
Udoma expressed his surprise at being nominated by the President while facing the Senators at the on-going ministerial screening. He said: “I am indeed surprised at President Buhari’s nomination of my person. I am ready to hit the ground running.”
According to him, the economy needs all hands on deck to witness the revival we all clamour for, the private and public sector inclusive. “We cannot turn this economy around if we rely solely on public sector; we have to focus on the private sector. I speak the language of the private sector. Since I am going into the private sector I understand them well,” Udoma said.
Others slated for screening today are Kayode Fayemi, Audu Ogbeh, Ogbonaya Onu, Osaghie Ehanire, Abdulrahman Dambazzau, Lai Mohammed, Amina Mohammed, Suleiman Adams and Ibrahim Jibril.
