Turning Point, a movie from the stables of HekCentrik Productions that features Ghana’s Jackie Appiah, Hollywood Ernie Hudson amongst others, explores ethnic prejudice amongst the various black communities in America.
The movie centers around a Nigerian investment banker that bows to family pressure to abandon his American sweetheart for an arranged wife from back home. His life is turned upside-down when the marriage turns out not too rosy, setting off a chain of events that forces him to confront his reckless past.
Executive Produced and directed by Niyi Towolawi (CEO of HekCentrik Productions) and Co-produced by Egor Efiok (CEO of E4 PR), it premiered in London, South Africa and Nigeria at the end of last year. Shot on digital 35mm picture, the intriguing plot sets the tone for thought provocative conversation and the mix of Hollywood and Nollywood stars presents a unique chemistry for a quality film experience.

The blend of Hollywood and Nollywood actors in the movie aside Jackie and Ernie include Igoni Archibong, Patience Ozokwor (Mama G), Enyinna Nwigwe, Ebbe Bassey and Chelsea Eze, Todd Bridges (“Diff’rent Strokes”, “Everybody Hates Chris”), Cynda Williams (“Mo’ Better Blues”, “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge”) and Joe Estevez (“Apocalypse Now”, “Spanish Fly”).
