The Condé Nast International Luxury Conference 2019 kicked off at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, South Africa yesterday with Editor of Vogue International, Suzy Menkes, supermodel Naomi Campbell, Editor-in-Chief of British Vogue Edward Enninful and many other countless high-powered industry leaders, movers and shakers in attendance.
Amongst attendees were Nigeria’s own creatives including Denola Grey, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Ayo Van Elmar and South Africa’s Blue Mbombo, Thebe Magugu, Trevor Stuurman, and Rich Mnisi.
This years theme is “The nature of luxury” which explores Africa as an exploratory arena to develop and imbibe the belief that luxury can be something associated with African brands.
The Conference will be hosting workshops and talks which guests speakers inculding Lagos Fashion Week’s Omoyemi Akerele, Co-founder of Studio 189 Abrima Erwiah, Chief Executive Officer of Tiffany & Co Alessandro Bogliolo, Deputy Chairman and Image Director of Emilio Pucci Laudomia Pucci, Environment Director LVMH Sylvia Bénard, President and CEO of Gucci Marco Bizzarri, and the CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo Micaela Le Divelec Lemmi.

In addition to the conference opening last night, the Condé Nast Photo Experience Installation opens to the public today. For a limited time period, they will be able to make their Condé Nast cover dreams a reality by visiting the Centre Court in the V&A Waterfront on Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th.
Created in collaboration with a local design agency, the installation will be made up of four interactive spaces to represent Vogue, GQ, Glamour and Condé Nast Traveller – each of these spaces incorporating work from local designers and creatives.
Visitors will be invited to step into these spaces and take photographs using the hashtag #CNILux – the best photos will be featured!
