Nigeria Evacuates 56 Stranded Nationals From Pakistan, 300 More From Dubai

On Friday June 19, Nigeria evacuated 56 Nigerians who were stranded in Pakistan along with four Pakistanis due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, who disclosed this on his Twitter handle, noting that they are to immediately undergo compulsory 14-days self isolation. ”Eventually, 56 Nigerians and 4 Pakistanis were safely evacuated from Islamabad to Abuja on a chartered aircraft operated by TARCO AVIATION Co. Ltd.” he wrote.

Also, 300 Nigerians were also evacuated from Dubai and arrived in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja today. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission announcing their arrival in a tweet which reads:

”300 Stranded Nigerians in UAE landed in Abuja, Nigeria today, Friday 19th June 2020 via  @emirates. All Evacuees are to go on Compulsory 14 days SELF ISOLATION according to the new Protocol by the Presidential Task Force on #Covid_19 ”

This brings to 1, 794 the number of Nigerians that have been evacuated back home since the global lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
