Nigeria has confirmed sixteen new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 254.
The commission also said 44 patients have been discharged with six deaths. Among the death was an index case in Katsina.

The governor, Aminu Masari announced this to newsmen, saying the deceased, Dr. Aminu Yakubu, a Daura based private medical practitioner, recently returned from Lagos to the state and died three days after, LIB reports.
His blood sample was taken to the NCDC office in Abuja for examination and it was confirmed he was positive for Coronavirus. According to the Governor, the late Dr Yakubu who is a native of Kogi State, had been battling with Hypertitis and threats of hypertension.
