Nigerian-British Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor Leads The Pack At This Year’s BAFTA Nominations!

BAFTA have announced their full list of nominees as the awards season continues to swing into action. Gravity (11 nominations), 12 Years a Slave landed 10 nods, with five in the main categories including best film, best director and best actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Chiwetel Ejiofor in 12 Years a Slave

Chiwetelu Umeadi “Chiwetel” Ejiofor, OBE was born in the United Kingdom to Nigerian parents. His father, Arinze, was a doctor, and his mother, Obiajulu, was a pharmacist. His younger sister is CNN correspondent Zain Asher.

The awards ceremony is on Sunday 16 February, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, hosted by Stephen Fry and will be broadcast on BBC One
