We don’t know about you guys, but we’ve been feeling particularly festive this week. Glitz and glam, sparkle and shine – there’s nothing like a fun-filled awards ceremony to show off our dress sense.
Insert, the 2019 UBA CEO awards which will be holding its annual UBA CEO awards on the Saturday, 28th of April 2019 at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos. The event will be graced by high-profile Nigerian socialites and A-list celebrities.
It is expected to be a night of excitement, good music, class and of course exquisite and breathtaking style in the dress code of Platinum. For Ladies: We don’t blame you for wanting to look fabulous, and in this colour, you definitely will! It’s a very flattering shade of gray, but more importantly, it presents a great opportunity for accessorizing, because the tone is like a blank canvas inviting you to add bold, beautiful color.
There are two ways you can go with shoes here: A bright, patent pump in a color like fuchsia or turquoise, or a shoe with a floral pattern or some flower appliques. Both options will make you stand out and show a playful side of your personal style, but you’ll still look totally occasion-appropriate thanks to the more conservative dress.
Neutrals and metallics should be avoided, because the dress is already a neutral. However, you can make an exception by combining a neutral with a bright colour. For accessories, go minimal and match them with your shoes. Check out that we’ve put together to inspire your looks for the event.
For Men: Opt for a platinum suit and pair with a white tuxedo shirt and black pocket square or invest in a double breasted blazer/plaid blazer paired with black pants and formal white shirt. If you prefer a black suit, then you can sport platinum pocket squares, bow ties, or ties.
Shoe can range from patent or highly polished leather oxfords and derby shoes to formal pumps. No Chelsea boots, brogues or garish coloured shoes.
