Nigeria’s former President, Olusgeun Obansanjo paid a visit to President Muhammdu Buhari at the Aso Rock villa today. This visit comes just as the details of the 2016 appropriation bill passed by the House of Assembly, was transmitted to the Presidency.
Obasanjo who arrived at the villa in the afternoon, exchanged pleasantries and cracked jokes about his “dancing steps” with reporters as he made his way into the villa, reports Vanguard.
Meanwhile, details of the 2016 budget brought to the Villa by Hon. Ismaila Kawu were said to have been received by the Abba Kyari, the president’s Chief of Staff.

Confirming the receipt of the budget, Senior Special Assistant, SSA to President on National Assembly matters, Senator Ita Enag said: The budget details have been transmitted to His Excellency, Mr. President today. The constitutional process begins thereafter. “We have transmitted it to the Office of the President and the constitutional process of timing starts.” It will be recalled that President Buhari when he received the highlights of the approved budget from the National Assembly last week insisted on seeing the details before signing the 2016 appropriation bill into law.
While retails of the closed door meeting between Buhari and Obasanjo remains unknown, the former president stated: “You know that not too long ago, I was out there. I have come to share some of my experiences with him.”
He also dismissed claims that he signed budgets into laws without sighting the details during his tenure, saying: “Eh en? I signed budget without details? Anybody who told you that, go and ask him again.”
“Before I will be able to tell you something about the budget, I have to read it and know what it contains and know what to talk about.”
On the travails of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, OBJ said: “Eh en? What is wrong with him?”
