Ondo Governor’s Son, Babajide Akeredolu, Tests Positive For COVID-19

Son of the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Babajide Akeredolu tested positive for the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, barely a month after his father recovered from the virus.

According to SaharaRepoters, Babajide who is the Secretary of the Response Fund Committee on COVID-19 has since gone into self-isolation.

“The governor’s son is already in self-isolation as required by the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,” the news outlet reported.

On June 30, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu revealed he tested positive for COVID-19 in a state broadcast and revealed he recovered barely a week later. He was the fifth incumbent governor to test positive for the ravaging disease.

So far, Ondo has recorded 1,284 coronavirus infections with 754 recoveries and 28 deaths since the virus was first confirmed in the country back in February.
