Not everyone seemed to be happy about Kim Kardashian scooping the award for Woman of The Year at last week’s British GQ bash.Lots of American Twitter users have been causing quite the stir, questioning why the reality queen got the award, but aiming it at US GQ magazine, rather than the British version.

One user tweeted: “I held y’all to a higher standard that’s all. Woman of the year!? For what?”

Eventually the US magazine took to Twitter to let readers know they had nothing to do with Kim’s accolade.

On Monday they tweeted: “Good morning, citizens of the UK. We’re still GQ US, and we still gave no awards. Congratulations on the new royal baby, though.”

@JakeJ29 take a long hard look at google. That was British GQ.

They also retweeted @stevecookl_32 who posted: “@GQMagazine names Kim Kardashian woman of the year! sMH GQ=Goodbye Quality.”

To which they responded: It’s Gentlemen’s Quarterly. And, wrong GQ.”

Speaking after the event, Kim said: “I don’t know [where I’ll put the award], maybe next to Kanye’s Grammys?”
