There is not a better way to start our wedding series at Onobello.com with the royal wedding – The Wedding Of The Century.
Catherine Middleton weds Prince William at Westminister Abbey, London in a fairytale style wedding the whole world has been waiting for in great anticipation.
Kate looked beautiful in a flowing 10- feet long satin and lace dress designed by British designer Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. The dress had fitted Chantilly lace sleeves and a descent train, very unlike that of the Late Princess Diana when she wed Prince Charles back in 1981. Kate’s dress was very similar to that of fashion icon Grace Kelly when she wed Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. Kate carried a smal bouquet of flowers which bore a secret love message to Prince William.
Kate wore a Cartier 1936 diamond Halo Tiara loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth. Her earrings were specially created diamond oak leaf and acorn designed by Robinson Pelham – a motif which echoes the coat of arms of the Middleton family. The earrings were commissioned by her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, as a wedding present.
Kate opted for DIY makeup and went for her favourite smokey-eyed look, opting for her trusty kohl with a soft pink on her cheeks and lips. It is rumoured that she had tutoring from London-based make-up artist, Arabella Preston.
Kate, now bestowed with the title Duchess of Cambridge, also received a manicure by Marina Sandoval from the Jo Hansford Salon in Mayfair, picking the blush tones of Bourjois's Rose Lounge and Essie's Allure.
Pre-wedding, the new bride enjoyed regular oxygen facials with Karin Herzog and did a practice run on her wedding hair with hairdressers James Pryce and Richard Ward.
Prince William on the other hand looked gallant in the ceremonial red Irish Guards uniform, Prince Harry, was at his brother’s side fulfilling his duty as best man dressed in a Blues and Royals uniform while Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton the maid of honour wore a white satin floor length Alexander McQueen dress.
Thousands people traveled from far and wide and lined the streets of central London to catch a glimpse of the royal couple.
