To show its continued support for kids, premium clothing brand for the next generation, Ruff ‘n’ Tumble has launched a campaign tagged #Listen2Me2, aimed at encouraging parent to listen more to their kids.
Like adults, children have emotions too, and often desire to be listened to by adults, particularly their parents, in the same way they are expected to listen to their parents.
The #Listen2Me2 Video is a way to start conversation on the need for parents to pay close attention to their kids, listen to them and help them grow in their formative years.
This becomes important considering the recent increase in suicide rates among kids and teens. Findings by Time Health show that most of the children who died by suicide in recent times had attention problems. This, according to the Chief Responsibility Officer of Ruff ‘n’ Tumble, Adenike Ogunlesi, is why parents and guardians need to be more observant of behaviours, pay close attention to their kids’ verbal and non-verbal cues, increase quality of interaction, listen more and nurture them.
The campaign video, which was released on Children’s Day provides insights into the views of children regarding how they are able to relate with their parents. While some feel their parents won’t listen to them, others do not trust their parents enough to share sensitive issues such as bullying or cases of sexual molestation. As such, they would rather turn to their friends and the Internet for direction and guidance.
Watch the video below and join the conversation on social media by encouraging parents and guardians to listen to their kids more, using the hashtag #Listen2me2.
It’s Children’s Day! A day set aside to celebrate the next generation, globally🌍 In line with Ruff ‘n’ Tumble’s vision to inspire through fashion, we decided to ask the kids what their biggest pain points are in regard to speaking with their Parents/Guardians. Listen to them in this video! Children are emotional beings too and like adults, want to be listened to. There’s so much going on in the world that requires us to guide & nuture our children aright. We can only know what’s going on with them by listening and connecting to them. This Children’s Day, we encourage you to make a commitment to listen to your kids more. #Listen2me2 #RuffnTumbleKids #Parents #Parenting #Parenting101 #ParentingHack #Listen2me2 #WorldChildrensDay #InternationalChildrensDay #ChildrensDay
