The suspended controversial Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has reacted to his suspension by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday.
In interviews with CNBC Africa and Sahara Reporters, the banker hinted that he would challenge his suspension in court, saying the President acted arbitrarily and does not have the power to either suspend or remove the Governor of the CBN.
Sanusi further revealed that his letter of suspension was signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.

Ousted CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi returned to Nigeria yesterday afternoon after attending an ECOWAS meeting in the Niger Republic. He was attending the meeting when he heard of his suspension. Upon arrival at the Lagos international airport, he was briefly detained by the Nigerian State Security Services and had his passport seized.
