M.A.C (Make-up Art Cosmetics), the professional makeup brand of choice, announces the opening of its second store in Lagos. As with the brand’s first store, which opened to huge excitement in the Ikeja City Mall in February, this second store is also in partnership with the Essenza Company. Both sides hotly anticipate the opening in The Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki, Lagos – a commercial hub in the city and a dynamic shopping destination. The store opens on 1st of September, 2013.

Zimbabwe Fashion Week Comes To A Close, Headline Designer Is South Africa’s Gavin Rajah
South African designer and concept specialist Gavin Rajah was the headline designer for this year’s Zimbabwe Fashion Week from 29th Thursday, to Saturday 31st August 2013. Rajah, who is also a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador has featured in numerous international publications such as Vogue, Los Angeles Times, London Sunday Times, London Financial Times, Harper’s & Queen, L’Officiel, Icon, Milano Finanza Luna, Avant Garde, Uomo Collezioni, The Face, Donna and Citizen.
Tagged “Fashion Through the Ages” the Founder – Priscilla Chigariro–Gessen – described this year’s event as “a tribute to centuries of creativity and artistic endeavor that stand today as the most significant symbols of any historical period or expression of national identity“. Some of the design labels who were showcased are House of Kiki M, HB Designs, Lon Crae, Countess K, Alpha Rose, Estelle Mantel Clothing and more.
Fashion Publication, FAB Magazine To Launch ‘The FAB Lounge”, A FAB Television Production
FAB Magazine, one of the fashion forward publications in Nigeria is expanding its profile with a show called “The FAB Lounge” which is to be launched in September. The Fab Lounge is a docu-feature with an interview session featuring fashion industry executives from Nigeria and the rest of Africa. The show seeks to educate and entertain while telling a story of the journey of each individual, highlighting the path, the struggles, the successes and the methods of each executive. It will be hosted by the editor-in-chief of Fab Mag/fashion designer Familusi Akin Babajide. The 30 minute show will air primarily on ONTV, a free-to-air channel in Lagos as well as on www.Youtube.com/FabTVAfrica and will thereafter be syndicated across key African media destinations.
The first season of the show comprises of 13 episodes featuring fashion designers, brand execs, models and make-up artists. Top bridal/R-T-W designers Yemi Osunkoya and Mai Atafo as well as model Chika Emmanuella, designer Bridget Awosika and make-up artist extraordinaire Banke Meshida-Lawal will all be seen in Season 1.
