The day 2 of ARISE Fashion Week 2019 was colourful and even more fascinating than the first day with more A-list stars and hundreds of fashion lovers storming the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos for the revered fashion week.
Kicking off as usual with pop-up exhibition and Arise Talks featuring Niyi Okuboye, Eniola Dawodu, Liya Kebede, Adeola Bali and legendary fashion journalist, Andre Leon Talley who screened his documentary, the runway oozed fierce sophistication with models strutting in jaw-dropping designs.
Lagos-born designer, Kenneth Ize launched his eponymous label in Nigeria in 2013. The label is devoted to the long established traditions of Nigerian craft and local artisanship, merging a new design aesthetic with a specifically local handcraft practice.
For Day 2, Kenneth’s collection mostly featured structural frill looks in contrasting prints. The talented designer used Asooke up a storm as he unveiled vibrant prints. Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Alton Mason both opened the presentation with the crowd cheering gleefully.
