Although the basis linking his apprehension has not been made known to the general public, but Singer, Born Afeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) this morning.
The upcoming act is presently at the EFCC office in Lagos for interrogations with speculations that it’s in connection with his expression on Instagram and other platforms showering praises on internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as Yahoo boys.
The EFCC mouthpiece couldn’t be reached early on Friday, but a top source at the agency established the apprehension to PREMIUM TIMES.
It could be that coincidentally, he dropped the official video of his new song, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan Ibile on Thursday.
Remember that he took to his instagram page during the week to tell his fans on a live video saying, “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?”
The video has since been engaging in mixed response from Nigerians who saw Afeez as a shame, disgrace and bad example to young and fellow Nigerians.
Yet, some Nigerians encouraged the ‘It’s A Goal’ crooner, buttressing the fact that Yahoo boys were the reason some Nigerians can eat and make a living.
