South Africa has recorded over 1,000 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the country’s Department of Health confirmed on their official website on Tuesday May 27.
According to the report, a total of 12,922 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours which resulted in 1,034 new cases of the novel pandemic.
“Regrettably, we report 52 new COVID-19-related deaths and send our condolences to the loved ones. The total number of recoveries is 11917,” the authorities said.
As of today, the total number of recoveries stands at 12 741, which translates to a 53% in the country. So far, the total confirmed cases in South Africa is 24,264 with 12,741 recoveries and 524 deaths.
Worldwide confirmed cases has exceeded 5 million with 99,711 new cases. More than 2 million people have recovered while mortality stands at 350,000 thousand.
