Twitter Reacts As Fans Rally Around Erica With A GoFundMe Target Of $100K
The fans of BBNaija ex-housemate, Erica Nlewedim, appear to still be strongly behind her, even as she was met with disqualification from Big Brother Naija Lockdown on Sunday September 6.
Recall that Erica got two strikes and warnings, then she got a strong final warning, after which she got disqualified from the competition on the grounds of gross misconduct, according to ‘Biggie’.
Although she’s no longer be on the show, they are hell bent on ensuring she becomes even more of a millionaire than the eventual winner of the reality TV show as they’ve since created a GoFundMe account to raise the sum of $100,000 since her exit.
The donation page was launched by her fans known as Elites. A staunch supporter kick-started the idea on Twitter, writing: “Elites we are creating a gofundme for her and we are contributing till she makes 100m naira. Who’s in? Comment if you’re in. #Erica”

Within hours, the account had already raised over $14,000 (N5.4 million) for the disqualified housemate who until her exit, was incumbent Head of House. The action has however led to more shock and amazement with many accusing her fans of supporting toxic behaviour.
Others, however, are of the opinion that many people contributing to the crowdfunding have misplaced priorities. Some also compared her actions in the house to ex-BBNaija housemates CeeC and Tacha.
A description underneath the campaign page reads: For Erica Nlewedim, the star of BBNaija season 5, Lockdown edition whose journey on the show came to an emotional end – To realize some of her hopes and aspirations.
Apart from the GofundMe, a car dealer, Chidi Mike promised the model cum actress N2m cash along with Bobrisky who also promised her a million naira.

They opened a GoFundMe account for Erica and you’re donating money, but your family and friends and neighbors are poor. You’re mad!!!

I bet some of the people donating money to Erica’s gofundme have relatives who are genuinely in need of help

There are a gofundme for people's tuition fees on Twitter that are yet to cross $2k after weeks. Well Erica's own is almost at $3k after 2 hours. Nigerians know what they want and it's why the country would remain stagnant.

Gofundme account swelling like Ijebu garri per minute.
At least, now we are certain that to gain plenty love and donations outside the house, you just have to be generally terrible and toxic.
