The West African Examination Council (WAEC), yesterday 17th December, released the result of the November/December 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
According to Head of National Office (HNO) of the body, Mr.Olutise Isaac Adenipekun, 113,573 candidates obtained five credit passes. In addition, 146, 253 candidates obtained credit passes and above in four subjects, while 175,718 candidates obtained credit passes and above in five subjects. A total of 200, 304 candidates obtained credit passes and above in two subjects.
Of the total number of candidates that wrote the examination, 235,542 candidates have their results fully processed and released. But 1, 612 candidates have a few of their subjects still being processed due to some errors, traceable mainly to the candidates in the course of registration or writing the examination, which he said “are being corrected by the council to enable the affected candidates have their results.”
The results of 28,768 candidates Adenipekun said, were being withheld for further investigation in connection with various cases of examination malpractice.
