After confirming speculations that she would be releasing an album this year to a fan on Instagram last year, loyal fans of pop star, Rihanna has been anxiously waiting, but it seems the singer is not releasing any album just yet. Rather, she recently broke into the fashion industry with her latest fashion line, Fenty.
It would be recalled that the star stormed the beauty line with the launch of her beauty collections, Fenty Beauty in 2017. She has proven that asides making good music, she is also a business mogul of repute.
Paris witnessed a walk-through of a pop-up store of her latest ready to wear collection, Fenty, which was created in partnership with luxury conglomerate LVMH.
For those who are conversant with Rihanna’s style, you can already guess what her collection looks like. The collections depict exactly the kind of wears she is known for. Speaking to Vogue.com, she said, “I often walk into stores and I’m like, ‘I love this, but I wish it was more like that, or in a different colour or in a different fabric’ – and now I get to do it”.
The collection is a blend of different fabrics; denim, leather, and cotton, designed in strong-shouldered corseted trouser suits, mannish cotton shirting, multi-pocketed oversized jackets in Japanese raw denim, unisex leather coats and so on. Rihanna said she loves strong silhouettes, and that all she wants to achieve is for women to look confident.
Now this is real ground breaking as Rihanna is the first woman to create an original brand at LVMH, the first woman of color at the top of an LVMH Maison, and her line is the first new house created by the group since Christian Lacroix in 1987.
