Five months after what has been termed the “biggest showdown” 2016 (so far… and the harbinger of many more) – Olamide’s outburst at the 2016 Headies and ensuing drama with Don Jazzy and organizers of the award show has ended with a direct apology to media mogul Ayo Animashaun, and the Hip TV crew.
The rapper had gone off on a tirade, blasting the organizers onstage during the show after former label act, Lil Kesh lost out to Mavin’s Reekado Banks in the keenly contested ‘Next Rated’ category of the awards after which he dropped the mic and stormed out of the venue with the rest of his crew in tow. Days after, organizers of the highly rated music award show released an official statement condemning Olamide’s actions during the show. Read here if you missed.
However, in very much welciomed move, the ‘Abule Sowo’ crooner visited the HipTV studios in Ikeja where he tendered and apology to Ayo Animashaun and the HipTV crew for his misdeeds. “He’s more like my dad in the industry so I had to find a way to come down and apologize for all that has happened,” he said.
