The Federal Government has stated that the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has the right to challenge the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election in court.
However, it called on Atiku to allow the court determine the conclusion of his petition against President Buhari in the 2019 election.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed speaking at a press briefing on Abuja on Thursday condemned the “Pukka” posters of Atiku circulating in major streets in Abuja.
“Yes, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has lost an election. But he will not be the first or the last person to lose an election, and he should realise that losing an election is not the end of the world” he said.
“There is no doubt that the PDP presidential candidate, out of desperation is thinking of replicating the Venezuelan model right here in Nigeria. But he should realise that Nigeria is not Venezuela, and that the situations in both countries are not the same” he added.
