3 Sharks Attack and Kill 21-year Old Student Swimming In Bahamas

A young woman named Jordan Lindsey has died after she was attacked by three sharks while on a family holiday in the Bahamas. The 21-year-old student from Torrance, California, was snorkeling when she was encircled by the beasts.

She was swimming near Rose Island at around 2pm yesterday when her parents helplessly screamed and tried to warn her before she was attacked, Mirror reports.

The Environmental Communications student suffered devastating injuries in the attack.

Her right arm was torn off and she was bitten on her left arm, both legs and buttocks.

Investigators believe she was attacked by three sharks. Her parents said they saw the sharks approaching and screamed to warn her but she didn’t hear them in time.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force said Jordan was later pronounced dead at Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau.

“We can confirm a U.S. citizen in the Bahamas succumbed to her injuries following a shark attack on June 26,'” a State Department spokesperson said to  ABC .

Deputy Commissioner Paul Rolle told WPLG her body will be taken to Princess Margaret Hospital in Nassau for an autopsy and then transported to California by the US Embassy.

Jordan’s devastated father Michael said in a statement to NBC:

“Her name was Jordan Lindsey…we already miss her so much. She was so caring. She loved all animals. It’s ironic she would die getting attacked by a shark.”

A doctor from Texas, Jace Holton, 32, was on the same tour boat as Jordan and even took a picture of the shark after the attack.

She explained that during the tour, visitors were taken to a roped-off area to snorkel with two guides before going to see the wild pigs on the other side of the island.

Jace told MailOnline she had been snorkeling in the exact same spot as Lindsey just 45 minutes before the sharks attacked.

“About 45 minutes after we snorkeled in that exact spot is when people ran on to our side saying a girl had been bitten by a shark and it look pretty severe,” she said.
