Emerging womenswear designer, Nola Black has continued to challenge the norms of the Nigerian fashion industry and its latest offering is of no exception.
For its SS19 editorial, the designer journeyed to South Africa seeking collaborative exploration of the tenderness of Cape Town, particularly, through Woodstock neighborhood where it was shot. The campaign features refreshed visuals which showcases a model basking in her glory .
“This editorial serves to experience the habitual transferable energy drawn through environment and locale,” the creative director says. “We found ourselves in the most beautiful, yet polarizing city and of course visual documentation is a necessity. Our team, spontaneously thrown together, brought the perfect storm.”
The brand also penned down a poem which goes:
“Woodstock, ends, Cape Town
Neighbourhood, rainbow, hues
House, dead oaks, cloak
Windows, eyes, soul, clues
Skin, sunday rain, different strokes
Gloom, sky, grey, mood, blue”
