As Nigerians celebrate the Independence Day in the country, celebrations are far from the people of Kirchinga village in Adamawa state.
Reports in Premium Times claim that at least 5 people were brutally killed by Boko Haram insurgents in fresh attacks earlier today.
According to an eye witness, who had to flee the area, the insurgents had a field day carrying out their attack on the village due to the absence of security personnel in the area. The attacks started at about 12. 30 a.m. on Thursday with sporadic shots being fired while they later went on to burn down buildings, killing those unfortunate enough to escape.
The villagers accused the government of playing lip service with regards to their security and appealed for mire security for their village which borders the dreaded Sambisa forest.
