Buhari Faces Backlash After Saying Foreign Press Coverage Of #EndSARS Protest Is Imbalanced

President Buhari faced a fresh backlash on Wednesday after accusing the foreign press of unbalanced coverage of the #EndSARS unrest.

Reacting to reports released by British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and Cable News Network (CNN) on the anti-police brutality protests which rocked the nation in October, the President took to Twitter and wrote:

“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC. I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened.”

The statement however prompted reactions from social media users with many stating that the president was not as disgusted about the killings of unarmed Lekki Toll Gate protesters as he is about the reportage.
