Day 3 at the Arise Magazine Fashion Week, Lagos 2011 saw collections of various designers including UK based Nigerian designer Nkwo, Samantha Cole of the UK, Pierre-Antoine Vettorello of Ghana, B-Side by Wale Adeyemi from the UK and Xuly Bet from Mali.
Highlights of the day also included the Arise Fashion Awards with South African designer Black Coffee showcasing vibrant pieces. Judges by a vote casting system selected five designers to show with Arise Magazine at the New York Spring/Summer Fashion Week 2011, the designers are: Jewel by Lisa, Tsemaye Binitie, Bunmi Koko, Kluk CDGT and Pierre-Antoine Vertorello.
Designers were also given awards in different categories including the Best in Creative Design with Ituen Basi as winner, Pierre-Antoine Vertorello winner in Innovative Design, Deola Sagoe was awarded in the category of Lifetime Achievementwhile Kluk CGDT got the designer of the year. Ex beauty queen Nike Oshinowo won the award for Style Icon.
The evening saw performances from Nigerian female rapper MoCheddah and two-time Brit Award winner Tinnie Tempah, real name Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu who closed Fashion Week and Awards with a thrilling performance of his hit singles including ‘Pass Out and Frisky’.
