Former military governor of Kaduna State and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Jafaru Isa, has refunded N100million of the N170 million he allegedly received from embattled ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
The retired brigadier-general, was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at his Asokoro residence in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mr. Isa, a political associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, was grilled for several hours in connection with about N170 million he received from Dasuki and subsequently released.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is however, kicking against the release of Isa by EFFC saying the commission has been compromised.
According PDP, setting Jafaru Isa free while its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh remains detained and without being charged to court since last week Tuesday, vindicates its position that President Buhari-led Government was not fighting corruption, but on a clamp-down mission on PDP leaders.
