Dozens Killed In Indonesian Military Plane Crash


An aircraft belonging to the Indonesian military has crashed today a few minutes after take off in the city of Medan, the capital of North Sumatra Province, authorities said.

At least 38 bodies have so far been recovered from the crash site which appeared to be in a residence area.

The military said the aircraft, built in the United States in the 1960s, had been inspected and cleared to fly before it took off from Soewondo Air Force Base.

The cause of the crash is still unknown.
