Big Brother Africa Announces Audition Venues For Season 8
Following an overwhelming entry response from the 14 participating countries, AfricaMagic is happy to announce that the Audition phase has arrived and you too, if willing enough stand a chance of being a Housemate in the Season 8 of AfricaMagic’s Big Brother Africa!

Audition dates and venues are as follows:

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Botswana will take place at Cresta President Hotel in Gaborone on Friday 15 March to Saturday 16 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Ethiopia will take place at Raddisson Blu Hotel in Addis Ababa on Monday 11 March to Wednesday 13 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Ghana will take place at Holiday Inn Accra Airport in Accra on Saturday 16 March to Monday 18 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Kenya will take place at The Kenyatta International Conference Centre K.I.C.C in Nairobi on Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Malawi will take place at Crossroads Hotel in Lilongwe on Monday 11 March to Wednesday 13 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in South Africa will take place at The Bassline in Johannesburg on Monday 11 March to Wednesday 13 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Zambia will take place at Intercontinental Lusaka in Lusaka on Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March from 09:00.

Auditions for shortlisted candidates in Nigeria will take place at Protea Hotel Leadway in Lagos on Monday 11 March to Thursday 14 March from 09:00.

If you were unable to enter online or submit the entry at your nearest MultiChoice office, there is still an opportunity to enter through the Open Auditions on the same dates, venue and time. All you are required to do is fill in the entry form which is currently available at your nearest MultiChoice office, then make your way to the audition venue where a production team member will assist you.

Remember, entries are only open to persons over the age of 21, who are citizens of one of the participating countries and who either have a valid passport or will be able to obtain one by the end of March.

Producers are looking for persons who are fluent in English, entertaining, open-minded, adventurous, bold and passionate about the Big Brother experience. Importantly the selection team is looking for qualities of tolerance, determination and enthusiasm.

2face Tops MTV Base’s First Ever Official Naija Top 10
2Face Idibia is riding high at number one in the first ever Official Naija Top 10, the definitive new chart of Nigerian contemporary music created by music authority MTV Base.

2Face’s top place in the inaugural chart – for Ihe Neme – was revealed on The Official Naija Top 10, the weekly countdown which premiered on the MTV Base block on NTA on 8 March.

Close on 2Face’s heels were P-Square with “Alingo” while Ice Prince’s “More” clocked in at number 3.  Other artists featured in the top 10 included Banky W., Iyanya, Burna Boy and the late Goldie, with “Skibobo”.
Every week, The Official Naija Chart is decided by an elite panel of Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists and tastemakers. As of the second episode, Bella Naija music editor Onos Ariyo will be joining DJ Jimmy Jatt, Cool FM’s DJ Xclusive, DJ Humility and Big Time(Rhythm FM), DJ Case and Toolz (The Beat FM) and Osagie Alonge (Nigerian Entertainment Today) on the judging panel.

Tune into The Official Naija Chart, presented by MTV Base VJ Ehiz with special guest Jimmy Jatt on MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) on Tuesday 12 March @22.00 WAT, to AIT on Tuesday 12 March @ 21.30 WAT and STV: Thursday 14 March @ 18.00 WAT.  The following week’s chart will be released on Friday 15 March on NTA @ 23.30 WAT.

Basketmouth To Host Comedy Central’s Stand Up Show In South Africa
Comic genius Basket Mouth is to become the first Nigerian to host prestigious comedy gig and TV show Comedy Central Presents …Live at Parker’s.

Encomium Kicks Off Plans For 4th Edition Of The Black And White Ball
Encomium Weekly, Nigeria’s foremost lifestyle magazine has announced plans for its highly anticipated 4th edition of the Black and White Ball!

The Lagos based publication says it is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring The Black and White Ball is top-notch as every detail of the event will depict style and panache.

“The 6-hour extravaganza promises to surpass previous editions.” Kunle Bakare, publisher of Encomium says.
Although a date has not been disclosed yet, the event already boasts of a robust guest list of over a thousand people which will include Nigeria’s favourite celebs, captains of industries, and entertainment aficionados in a majestic marquee situated in the heart of Lagos State.

To highlight the event, there will be a showcase of fabulous pieces from some of Nigeria’s most gifted designers.

Pioneers and forerunners in the fashion and style business who have made elegance desirable will be awarded by a select committee comprising a panel of Encomium Weekly readers and in house team members.

Founded in May 1997, Encomium Weekly has steadily risen to become the celebrity journal  and has morphed from a purely black and white magazine with only colour covers to a magazine with coloured multi pages.

Encomium’s Black and White Ball has hosted many stars over the years, including Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, Otunba Gbenga Daniels, Dele Momodu, Genevieve Nnaji, Dayo Adeneye and Keke Ogungbe.
