Wizkid Signs UK Based Producer Maleek Berry To Starboy Entertainment
Wizkid always manage to pop up in the buzz every week and this time the young CEO has taken a giant step!
Wizkid has announced the official signing of UK based producer Maleek Berry to his Starboy Entertainment label, making him the first official signing to the label aside Wizkid.
Maleek Berry is responsible for so many hit songs that ruled the airwaves in 2012 and 2013 including Saucekid’s “Carolina,” Davido’s “Video” and “Enter the Centre,” Wande Coal’s “My Way” and more recently is Wizkid’s “Lagos to Soweto.”

Half Of A Yellow Sun Rated Nollywood’s Most Expensive Movie
“Half of a Yellow Sun,” an adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s novel has been ranked the most expensive movie in Nollywood. The movie which has bears the same name as the novel is said to have cost about N1.27 billion ($8m) to make. It was shot at Tinapa Film Studio, Cross River State, and in the United Kingdom.
The yet to be released film, directed by Biyi Bandele, has most of its cast and crew flown from abroad. The cast comprised Britons and Nigerians such as Chiwetel Ejiofor (Kinky Boots, American Gangster, 2012, Salt); Thandie Newton (Mission: Impossible II, Crash, The Pursuit of Happiness); Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, For Coloured Girls); Joseph Mawle (Women in Love, Game of Thrones); John Boyega (Attack the Block); Nigerian singer Onyeka Onwenu, Genevieve Nnaji and Zack Orji.
The production quality of the film indicates the growing professionalism in Nollywood, an industry which ranks #3 in the world after Hollywood and Bollywood.
Producer Blessing Effiom-Egbe And Husband Welcome Baby Number 3
The producer of “Two Brides and a Baby” who also doubles as an actress Blessing Effiom-Egbe and her husband have welcomed their third child – a baby boy.
She delivered the baby, weighing 4.6KG on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, Blessing took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express her joy and also respond to well wishers.
She tweeted: “Friends help me say thank you Jesus for this beautiful gift of life! Our 4.6kg big boy!!! It’s a miracle!”
Blessing is the C.E.O of B’Concept Network Productions and producer of the popular movie “Two Brides and a Baby” and the recent “Lekki Wives” drama series.

We are so happy for these lovers because they have brought their love to real life. M-Net Tinsel stars, Iyke Okechukwu (Chuks) and Florence Uwaleke (Ene) are so believable when you watch them on the popular soap Tinsel, they play college lovers in the soap. If they have left any room for doubt, they just took it away by getting married in real life!
Yup! Chuks and Ene (their character’s name) got married yesterday April 17th in Surulere Lagos. They already had their traditional wedding January this year.
We wish them happy married life… so happy for these ones!
Words Aren’t Just Enough! Waje’s Announces May 1st Album Release Date
Haven released the video for her latest single “I Wish” that caused quite a “stare” (pun intended); Waje has finally announced the date for the release of her debut album.
She gave us a date last year but for some reason, she didn’t go through with it.
Now, the songbird has given out the release date of one of Africa’s most highly awaited albums – “Words Aren’t Just Enough” as May 1st. Her management team has promised that more details will be revealed in the coming week.

Flavour To Perform Alongside Snoop Lion At MTV Africa All Stars Concert In South Africa
Nigerian high life artiste Flavour (@flavournabania) and South African House music sensation Zakes Bantwini (@ZakesBantwiniSA) will join the “all star” line-up at MTV Africa All Stars – KwaZulu-Natal, the sensational open-air concert brought to you by MTV Base (DStv Channel 322) and KZN Province.
Bantwini and Flavour will join US entertainment icon and multi-platinum hip hop star turned reggae artist Snoop Lion (@SnoopLion) aka Snoop Dogg, at the 5-hour open air concert at the stunning Moses Mabhida Stadium, People’s Park Durban on 18 May.
