Afrobeat Legend Femi Kuti was live at the Central Park’s SummerStage with his band, The Positive Force. Femi who is no stranger to the Central Park’s SummerStage performed with his band in a performance that has been described as remarkable.
Also mounting the stage was World Music artiste Ahmed Gallab a.k.a Sinkane who performed songs from a selection of Rock-Pop, with a blend of 70s Funk and Jazz from his new album Mars.
Femi performed his hit tracks including Fela’s “Do something for Africa” and “No Job No Work No Money” off his latest album but the highlight of the event was when he was performing his father – Fela’s “Water No Get Enemy” and former G.O.O.D Music artiste, US rapper Common joined him on stage and freestyled to the song.
Central Park’s SummerStage is one the most reputable summer concerts in New York. It was founded in 1986, the SummerStage music festival features international and local artistes, dance, spoken word, musicians, and more.
