FOR COLOURED GIRLS HITS BIG SCREENS

‘For Coloured Girls’ a movie directed by Tyler Perry and adapted from Ntozake Shange’s award-winning play ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf’’, is built on the story line of trials and tribulations that black women go through in their lives. It exposes real life issues such as love, abandonment, rape and abortion.

The original Shange’s play was first performed in theatres across New York in 1975.  This new movie has a strong all black cast with A-list actors including Phylicia Rashad (from The Bill Cosby Show) Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson Thandie Newton, Macy Gray and Kerry Washington.

This movie an emotional one, brace yourself and head to a cinema near you.
