It was a night of music, love and more as the One Mic Naija train kicked off its' official first show in Lagos for this year, recently.
With artistes like D'Truce, F'Shaw and Mike Anyasado on the bill, it was certain that it would be a night of diverse music styles. The show kicked off with the top five boys and top five girls from the Nigerian Idol reality show performing live in front of an appreciative audience. It was close to call but the boys seemed to get the audience on their feet faster and for longer than the girls did!
Performances by D'Truce (who had won the open mic session at the previous edition of One Mic Naija and was performing as one of his prizes) was next. Followed by performances from Mike Anyasado, F Shaw (who had the ladies swooning) and Willy Bang.
Hosts, Kel and Kunle KB Bello kept everyone laughing between performances, especially during the Open Mic session where Barzini emerged winner. He will perform at One Mic Naija in April.
The only girl of the night was the lovely Ebisan and she showed just why she is one of the artistes to buzz about this year as she delivered a powerful and convincing set with songs like 'jowo” and “our love story”. It was a great foretaste of what was to come as Ill Bliss was up next to show why he is “Oga Boss”.
With a surprise appearance by Chidinma, Ill Bliss performed songs from his album, including crowd favourite, “Ana m chikwanu”.
Next up is One Mic Naija in March. While the headliner and line up list is still a secret, we can assure you it would be a wonderful experience.
