Members of the Citation cast and crew lit up a gloomy Saturday October 31 at the movie’s official premiere in Lagos. Dr. Mrs Ibukun Awosika, Temi Otedola, Ini Edo, Gabriel Afolayan, Wole Olowomojuore, Seun Kuti, Toyin Ogundeji joined the partners behind the movie at Terra Kulture for a viewing of the thought-provoking film.
They include; Ford Foundation, Natnudos, Canon, FlyBoku, GAC Motors, Arik Air, Ajike Foundation, Access “W’ Initiative as well as other amazing guests like Sola Sobowale, the Director-General of NFVCB; Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, the President and Executive Producer of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA); Mike Dada, the Nigerian music video director, filmmaker and cinematographer; Clarence Peters, the MD of Terra Kulture; Bolanle Austen Peters, the former commissioner for information and culture of Lagos State; Steve Ayorinde, Former DG of NFVCB; Emeka Mba, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha and a host of others.
The event which was a mix of music, cocktails and movie screening, began with an opening speech from director Kunle Afolayan who welcomed everyone and appreciated the effort of the cast, crew and the partners involved in Citation.
He also emphasized on the intentions of the movie which is to encourage people to speak up against sexual based crimes.
The screening ended with a loud ovation with Afolayan returning to stage for the curtain call, but instead surprised guests by placing a zoom call through to the leader actor Jimmy Jean-Louis and Adjetey Anang, his co-star who were unable to attend the event.
Citation will be officially released on Netflix on November 6.
