Introducing Nosa Omoregie– Chocolate City’s Newest Artiste

It has been a long time coming for Nosa. He made his first appearance to the music scene by featuring on a music blog with his first single, “Always Pray For You” in 2009. Even back then, he was sensational enough to be described as a golden musician.

Nosa Shadrax Omoregie is from Benin in Edo State. He began his journey into the world of music at 7, and in time began writing rap lyrics and embracing popular culture. His love for the beats spurred his interest in production and soon he moved from writing a few lines here and there to recording full-fledged tracks, and experimenting with various forms of music in different local languages. He knew he had talent, but he was restless until he joined the Church Choir. It was there Nosa flourished. Composing pieces for the group and driven by his spirituality, Nosa’s talent found its purpose in inspiring his audience with words of hope and promoting awareness to incite change. The focus on punch lines and rhyme gave way to fluid melody and substance. And today, even as a devoted and full-time Christian his message has not changed.

According to the Press Release sent out by Chocolate City, even in 2009 the media gushed about Nosa Omoregi’s single saying, “It’s not every day we hear a Nigerian artiste sing . . . in pidgin English and make it sound so amazing! Everything about this song oozes class. The lyrics, the production/sound arrangement, and the vocals are all inch-perfect and that’s no exaggeration.”

It wasn’t only his fans that fell in love with his pitch perfect vocals, writing prowess and unique delivery. Chocolate City did too and they are now proudly re-introducing him. The music label is home to Africa’s biggest Hip Hop stars M.I, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Brymo, Tonii & Dj Caise.
