Many Feared Dead At Mosque Bomb Blasts In Maiduguri


Two suicide bombers have attacked a mosque in Molai, at the outskirts of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, leaving scores dead.

According to reports by THEWILL, the attacks occurred around 6.30pm on Thursday.

The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. AderemiOpadokun has confirmed that fourteen people were killed in what he described as a twin suicide attack.

The commissioner in a text message to the media said: “Twin IED explosions happened at Molai, outskirt of Maiduguri about 1835 hrs. of 15/10/15 (Thursday).

“Two Suspected Suicide Bombers detonated IEDS in and outside a Mosque at Molai.

“The mosque consequently collapsed injuring many people praying, while number of death is about 14 so far including the two bombers.

“Casualties have been evacuated to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) and Specialist Hospitals Maiduguri.

“Investigation is in progress and normalcy has been restored to the area.”
