The world is currently sadden with the devastating news of a massive explosion which erupted in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut on Tuesday, August 4.
According to CNN, the afternoon blast shook several parts of the capital with Local Red Cross reporting widespread damage to buildings and shattering windows in different parts of the city.
Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan in a televised remark said that more than 50 people have been killed and 2,700 are wounded so far. Local TV stations reported the blast was at Beirut’s port inside an area where firecrackers were stored.

The cause of the explosion was not immediately clear. However, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Hassan Diab said those responsible for an explosion at a “dangerous” warehouse in Beirut port area that rocked the capital would pay the price, Aljazeera reports.
“I promise you that this catastrophe will not pass without accountability… Those responsible will pay the price,” he said in a televised speech
