Lawyers representing Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki in his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja have staged a walkout following the refusal of the Chairman of the tribunal, Mr. Umar Danladi, to suspend proceedings pending the determination of Saraki’s appeal at the Supreme Court on the tribunal’s jurisdiction to try him.
The lawyers, Mr. Ahmed Magaji (SAN) and Mr. Ahmed Raji (SAN) described the tribunal’s Thursday ruling on their request as “Judicial rascality”.
Saraki is standing trial in a 13-count suit bordering on alleged improper declaration of his assets.
