Show Reports: ARISE Fashion Week 2019 Day 1 — Papa Oppong
ARISE Fashion Week 2019 opened with a bang on Friday, 19 April 2019, with top designers, high profile guests and hundreds of fashionistas converging at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos for the revered fashion week.
Kicking off with Fashion Talks featuring the likes of Naomi Campbell, Andre Leon Talley, Reni Folawiyo, Ituen Bassey and other local/international public figures, a-list models oozed fierce sophistication while strutting down the runway in jaw-dropping designs.
Papa Oppong Bediako is a Ghanaian illustrator and designer who’s craft has made his contribution of African women-inspired pieces to bear on the art form.
The young designer displayed his quirky prowess on the day 1 of Arise Fashion Week as he unveiled pieces that combined irregular prints, structural cuts and most certainly paper fans as hats.
