ARISE Fashion Week 2020 closed out with a spectacular grand finale on Saturday December 13 with designers and their models shuttling from an hotel for the show following a carefully planned COVID compliant transit schedule.
The continent’s most prominent fashion show has had to adapt amid the coronavirus pandemic by going virtual and streaming to a global audience across multiple platforms. Africa’s biggest stars such as Wizkid, Wurld, Wavy the creator and The Cavemen were part of the day 2 of the fashion frenzy, spiking the evening with stellar performances.
Kenneth Ize emerged winner of the 30 Under 30 competition, presented by supermodel Naomi Campbell. The young designer was rewarded with a $100,000 cash prize while runners-up Ré Lagos and South African Mmuso Maxwell received $75,000 and $50,000 respectively. The three winners emerged from a pool of eight finalists which included Lagos Space Programme, Ziva Lagos, TJWho, Onalaja and Ajabeng.
