Following the saga between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) and UK-based Nigerian singer, Naira Marley who was arrested on allegations of fraud related crimes, alongside four others, the singer has finally been released on bail.
During the bail hearing on Thursday, 30 May 2019, the singer was granted bail by the Federal Court in Ikoyi, Lagos with his bail conditions set at Two million Naira and two sureties.
Fans of the musicians has since been expecting to see him but apparently there has been some delay on his freedom. Naira Marley who recently dropped a song while in custody titled “Why” – centered around loyalty and friendship won’t be out of EFCC custody until Monday, according to his management.
In a statement released on Instagram, the management wrote:
“Update. To the Marlians, Naira Marley gonna be in ikoyi prison till Monday, we’ve perfected his bail, the court just need to confirm it and let him go. Thanks Management”
Naira Marley will be back in court by October for his trail, on accelerated hearing basis.
